DESCRIPTION
-------------------
Absolutely unique, highly decorative vintage table lamp, with silk shade and glass droplets - perhaps from the 60s? The shade and base have obviously stayed together over the years which is very rare! Every inch is decorative - lovely cream/beige silk stretched over the lamp shade frame, with gold fringing at the top and scalloped edge at the bottom of the frame and delicate pink and green flower braiding stitched to the top. A gold bow of velvet ribbon hangs down the shade at the front, and this too is stitched with the pink and green floral braid. The lamp base is rococo style brass with a tripod foot of acanthus leaf design. Three pairs and three single glass droplets hang down to give your room the lustre that makes this a 'lustre lamp'. Delightful!!
WHO & WHERE
-------------------
This is from an auction in Diss. It was originally wired to an identical lamp to form a bedside table pair.
CONDITION/RESTORATION
---------------------------------------
The lamp is in excellent condition, and in working order. We've gently wiped down the brass base and crystal droplets, and used mild glue to reattach the gold braid where it was slightly coming away in one place. The plug has been rewired so that it works singly, not as a pair.
