Pair of vintage studio pottery stoneware vases, signed and dated 1984, Brazil

These are wonderfully chunky, heavyweight stoneware vases, with a fat lava style finish in matt brown with thick molten lava drips in dark reds, browns and oranges. They could be for large statement floral displays (dried flowers, pampas grasses) but work just as well as decorative objects in their own right, paired together in a hallway, on top of a cabinet or even as floor pieces.

The bottom of both vases has a round of thin cork to ensure it doesn't damage surfaces. This cork is signed 'Diva Airam' (we think!) and dated '84 and marked as from Recife, which is in Brazil.

The large pot is 29cm H x 22cm Diameter, the smaller one is 24cm H x 20cm Diameter.

We will post for free to the UK mainland. Our experience of using the cheaper parcel services for delicate items is not good, so we will be using Parcel Force (the price takes this into account). Collection or local delivery can be arranged from IP23 or IP14, or possibly NW2 if you contact us before purchase. Message before purchase for a non-mainland quote. We wrap fragile items securely using reused packaging wherever we can.

PLEASE NOTE: it is always a bit risky buying delicate items to be posted. Delivery services, including Parcel Force, do not provide insurance for the delivery of ceramics, so we will wrap it as well as we possibly can, but unfortunately if the item does end up being broken in transit, we will not be able to provide a refund (unless of course both you and we agree that the packaging was not adequate).
