Although there are no marks of maker or date on these plates, we think they're pretty old and probably Chinese. They are handpainted with a matt, textured finish showing their age. From the back you can see they are stoneware with glaze and one has ornate decorations to the back too. They are a delightful pair that look wonderfully decorative and are great as ornamental dishes for odds and ends or to hang on display. The diameter is 21.5cm each. As these are clearly old, there are signs of wear, including some small chips to the edges and some scraping of the glaze at the edges too. Please check the photos carefully or ask us for more photos.
The price is for the pair. We will post for free to the UK mainland. Our experience of using the cheaper parcel services for delicate items is not good, so we will be using Parcel Force this time (the price takes this into account). Collection or local delivery can be arranged from IP23 or IP14 if you contact us before purchase. Message before purchase for a non-mainland quote. We wrap fragile items securely using reused packaging wherever we can.
PLEASE NOTE: it is always a bit risky buying delicate items to be posted. Delivery services, including Parcel Force, do not provide insurance for the delivery of a antique/ceramic items, so we will wrap it them as well as we possibly can, but unfortunately if there is breakage in transit, we will not be able to provide a refund (unless of course both you and we agree that the packaging was not adequate).
